Woon Tai Ho has joined the new National Art Gallery (what’s the acronym again? It was TNAGS, but not anymore???) as Director of Media and Marketing. He was formerly Mediacorp’s news chief executive (click here for the announcement).
He cannot be cheap for the Gallery to hire. He is after all a head honcho at a profit-making company with a huge scope, who is now moving to a loss-making cost centre with a much reduced scope. I wonder how much the Gallery is offering him in salary alone (considering that this government post will not give much in bonus, and no shares too). It cannot be less than 5-figures per month, and probably not a low 5-fig at that. So since the Gallery is publically-funded, he must have broken a few salary-ceilings in scoring this step-down job (when compared to his larger scope at Mediacorp). Not all civil/public servants are paid according to a fixed scale huh?
