Baba Bling exhibition at Peranakan Museum touted as ‘current’?: Driftwood floating in museum-cyberspace

Click here to see the exhibition still being hocked off as a ‘current’ event at the Peranakan Museum, despite the exhibition having ended in Dec 2009. And for those who say that it is not a mistake but simply a way for the museum to ‘archive’ an old exhibition, the text reads “…If jewellery is your cup of tea, then don’t miss Baba Bling!”

It’s been almost 3 years since the end of Baba Bling lah! You are telling me that no one in the museum has been bothered by this 1000-day oversight? Like I said, setting up a pretty website is easy when you have resources. But keeping it accurate and current takes commitment.

Latest as of 2 Feb: The website has finally been updated, and Baba Bling is now archived as a ‘past’ exhibition’. BUT BUT BUT… someone with an undiscerning eye missed this line in the Baba Bling page (click here): “Join one of our special Baba Bling tours to listen to stories behind some of the beautiful jewellery on display. Available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12:30pm.” Aa-doi!!! The exhibition was in 2009 lah, and you are still offering tours of it in 2013??? It’s not that hard la, someone ‘responsible’ MUST read every line BEFORE it goes live online….
